12U boys' lacrosse - Fall clinics/scrimmages

VYI Lacrosse is pleased to offer a series of six Offensive & Defensive Lacrosse Skills clinics on Sundays this fall!  These clinics are open to all boys planning to play Vienna 12U boys lacrosse in Spring 2020.

OFFENSIVE & DEFENSIVE SKILLS Clinic & Scrimmage Sessions

We will start each 90-minute session with 45 minutes of clinic followed by 45 minutes of pickup/scrimmage time to practice the skills just covered.

Overview of Skills Covered:  Offensively, we will work with the boys on their individual and team offensive skills, including dodging and shooting, field presence, feeding skills, stickwork, and more.  Defensively, we will focus on skills to improve both 1-on-1 and team defense, including proper footwork, playing defense with our legs instead of our arms, body position, and taking away our opponent’s strong side.

Pickup/ Scrimmage:  The second half of each session will be a 45-minute scrimmage between participants to work on the skills we have just learned, in the presence of the coaches.

Session Dates:

Concussion Awareness & Information

VYI Parents:

Concussion awareness is a growing topic in youth sports. In support of our athletes, VYI Lacrosse is providing an overview of concussions to both raise concussion awareness and also instill knowledge about the symptoms and risks of concussions across our coaching staff and parent community.

Please take a few minutes to review the information, which includes signs and symptoms of concussion and return to play risks and guidelines.

Parents are also encouraged to visit the "Heads-up" page on the CDC website to review concussion information and symptoms:
