Our in-house program for our youngest lacrosse enthusiasts (boys and girls, ages 5-7) will be held at Cunningham Park Elementary School, 4:00-5:15 p.m., on the following Sundays:

April 15th, 22nd, 29th
May 6th, 13, 20th
(Rain date:  June 3rd)

While the only equipment that is needed is a stick, we do encourage all participants to use a full-sized, "real" lacrosse stick (NOT a "fiddle stick").  The coaches will help you determine if your stick should be cut down.

Any questions, please contact Chad McRae at .

Field and Facility Conduct
by posted 03/15/2012

Dear Parents and Coaches,

VYI has received some complaints concerning the behavior of some parents, coaches and/or children using area sports facilities. While some of these complaints were eventually discovered to be related to other sports that are not related to VYI, we want to ensure our members continue to be respectful of the neighborhoods, schools, and parks that host our practices and events. Some of the specific complaints we’ve received include:
  • Parking in front of neighborhood houses and obstructing resident access
  • Walking through private property
  • Not observing established traffic flow and parking patterns at schools during SACC hours (this is especially true for our early practice slots on school fields).
  • Generally disturbing the peace and quiet of the people living around the fields and gyms

As stated previously, we don’t know if any of the incidents reported involve VYI parents, coaches or children but it is appropriate that we establish guidelines so that everyone knows what is expected of them. Anything a parent, coach or player does while attending a VYI activity (practices, games) reflects on VYI and all of us individually.

Use of area athletic facilities (gyms and fields) is a privilege not a right. VYI has an excellent reputation in the community and because of that we enjoy certain privileges. It is imperative that we maintain this reputation. We are guests in these neighborhoods (and schools) and must conduct ourselves accordingly.

Below are some rules that we must all follow:

  • Parking on residential side streets is only permitted when all lots adjacent to a facility are full.
  • Do not park in the designated SACC (School Age Child Care) parking areas in school parking lots.
  • Respect established traffic flow patterns in school parking lots when SACC is in session (any time before 7:30 p.m.).
  • When it is necessary to park on a neighborhood street we must be quiet and respectful of the residents and their property. This means there should be no yelling, littering or trespassing on private property.
  • Never park in such a way as to block a driveway or otherwise obstruct the resident from leaving their home or parking in front of it.
  • Make sure we leave each facility clean and free of trash.
  • Be a leader. If you witness inappropriate behavior intervene and report to a coach or commissioner as appropriate.
We appreciate your support in ensuring that we have continued access to the facilities that are vital to our sports programs.

Marshall High School Fields - Access Has Changed!
by posted 02/01/2012

Because of the ongoing renovation/construction at Marshall H.S., our access to their athletic fields (stadium and practice field - both artificial turf fields) has changed since last season.

We are no longer allowed to access the fields from the high school parking lot as we have in the past

Please review the page linked on the left menu titled "Marshall HS Field Info" for important instructions on how to access the Marshall HS turf fields during construction.

IF WE DO NOT FOLLOW THESE  INSTRUCTIONS, WE WILL NO LONGER BE ALLOWED TO USE THE FIELDS AT MARSHALL HS

Thank you in advance for your adherence to these new instructions.
